happy happy joy joy
It is odd, isn’t it, how sometimes you can be all like ‘Look music, it is all very well you being brilliant but I simply do not have time for thee. I am very busy being important and so you will just have to wait your turn, like everyone else.’ And then there are other weeks, where you wash in it, sleep in it, snog it, sexitup, eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and then have coffee...
RIGHT, SO...
…this week there has been quite a lot of chat about this chap: …and this chap… …making The Music together. And all I am saying is that because they are two of my favourite people evereverever, it basically makes my brain do this: If it is anything like as good as it promises to be, I will be the happiest woman on the planet. And may wet myself.

NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS SKINNY FEELZZZZZZZ
It says something not terribly pleasant about our brave new world, that a celebrity is deemed to have buckets of charisma simply because they don’t agree to do interviews very often. Of course, Kate Moss is one of these wispy, un-pin-downable types. But she recently broke her charisma-making silence to give an interview to W magazine, in which she apparently revealed one of her personal mottos....

So Hot Chip have done a new song. It is called ‘Take It In’ and you can listen to it on Pitchfork. Here are some things: • It has a piano riff which nearly and almost recalls John Carpenter’s Halloween theme. And even if it does not recall it exactly, it is certainly in the same Ballpark of Doom. Also, later they add some lighter, prettier minor chords over the top, which do a sort of relief...

Roisin Murphy has a new single out, which you can hear over here. Although warning: do ignore the artwork, which is rather too Roisin-does-How-To-Look-Good-Naked for my tastes, and sadly uses some shocking fontage. The record itself is quite ‘blue’.
