I’ve spent nearly the whole of the last month listening to the Fruit Bats ‘Tripper’, from which this is taken. It’s a brilliantly incorrigible and unabashed sort of record, that doesn’t shy away from pop flourishes like a po-faced band might; Tripper really wants you to have a good time, it aims to please in the same way Chutes Too Narrow did.
Anyway. I am very, very taken with them. It is out on Sub Pop on August 29th.
